Illinois School Social Workers Statewide Listening Sessions

School Social Workers from across Illinois are invited to share their perspectives through a series of listening sessions. Social Work consultants will facilitate in-person discussions to gain insight through open conversations. The facilitators will propose questions to the groups and take notes on the responses. The purpose is to compile the feedback to make policy recommendations at State and district levels to support the recruitment and retention of school social workers. Sessions will not exceed 75 minutes. Participants will not be identified by name or district in either the session notes or the final report.

West 40 Intermediate Service Center #2 is making this opportunity possible through a federal mental health grant, headed by Cara Wiley, Director of Grants.

Social Work consultants for the listening sessions are Amy Starin, PhD, LCSW and Sharon Bearden, LCSW, School Social Worker.
